How To Setup A Direct Mail Campaign With A Printing Service

At this time we recommend a service called LetterPrinting.net to print your letters and mail from. There are many similar services out there, but LetterPrinting.net has a lot of cool options that work well with our direct mail campaigns to the owners.

How To Setup A Direct Mail Campaign With LetterPrinting.net

Overview

At this time LetterPrinting.net requires 3 things in order for you to setup a campaign.

  1. You need to create an order from their website or over the phone by calling their sales line listed on their website. The price depends on the quantity of mail pieces that you order as well as the options you choose for printing, the type of paper and also how you want the postage handled.
  2. They require that you send them both your letter template and envelope template to them and it needs to be formatted using their merge field format. (Explained below)
  3. They require you to upload a .csv containing all the recipients of the campaign and their contact information that will be used in your template files that you upload.

How To Generate A Mailing List For LetterPrinting.net

  1. Log into your Investment Dominator Admin Console and navigate to either the ‘Land Deals’ or ‘House Deals’ section depending on what type of properties you will be working with.
  2. Click on the link at the top left of the page called ‘Generate Documents’.

  3. Click on the ‘Export Data’ link next to the letter campaign you want to generate. This will download a .csv file that you can upload to your LetterPrinter.net order ticket.

How To Create Template Files For LetterPrinting.net

  1. Log into your Investment Dominator Admin Console and navigate to either the ‘Land Deals’ or ‘House Deals’ section depending on what type of properties you will be working with.
  2. Select the checkbox to the left of one of your Prospect records then click the ‘Generate Documents’ link at the top of the data table.

  3. Select the ‘Doc’ option to download both the Letter and Envelope template as a Word Doc.

  4. Open up the word doc and edit all of the fields associated with the owner and property that are in that letter. For example, change the owner’s first name with the text <<or_fname>> which is the name of the column in your .csv file that contains the owner’s first name. Take a look at this example your document should look something like this…

    Here is the list of merge fields that work with the LetterPrinting.net system and our Exported Data list…

  5. Once you have added all these merge fields to your document you want to select File> Save As and then save the document as a .pdf document.

    This .pdf file is the other file you want to upload to your LetterPrinting.net order ticket.
  6. Repeat the above process for the envelope template and then also upload that envelope template as a .pdf file to your LetterPrinting.net order ticket.

 Updating The Records In The Investment Dominator

Once LetterPrinting.net has confirmed that the letters have been mailed you will want to update the status of your prospects to a Mailed status.

  1. Log back into your Investment Dominator Admin Console and click on either the ‘Land Deals’ or ‘House Deals’ tab then on the ‘Generate Documents’ link at the top right of the page.
  2. Then click on the ‘Bulk Update Records’ button to move all these prospects into the next Status.
